EFR Travel Group has appointed Andy McLundie as Director of its Paisley-based corporate travel specialist company, WDT Corporate Travel.

Andy brings with him some 30 years of experience in the corporate travel business – the vast majority of which was with HRG in Glasgow – where he worked across all areas including operations, sales and account management. Originally from Oban, he worked his way up from an administrative assistant role with HRG in the Glasgow offices to Head of UK & International Operations, still based in Glasgow but with offices all over the UK. His experience included roles as a Travel Consultant, Branch Manager in Glasgow, General Manager (Scotland and North of England) then Head of Operations.

He succeeds WDT Corporate Travel’s founder and former Managing Director, George Glen, from whom EFR Travel bought the business in 2018, following George’s decision to retire.

Having built up WDT from scratch into one of Scotland’s leading corporate travel providers and stayed on to ensure a smooth transition into EFR, George has now retired from the business and handed over the reins to the new team.

Commenting, Edward Rom, founder and CEO, EFR Travel Group, says “We’re delighted to welcome Andy on board at WDT, who brings with him a wealth of experience in the corporate travel world.   We would also like to wish George a very happy and well-deserved retirement and thank him for all his hard work and commitment since our purchase of his business last year.

“EFR Travel is now a significant player in the corporate travel market, with the combination of WDT Corporate Travel with our other corporate travel businesses, CSR Travel and EFR Corporate Travel, positioning us amongst the top 40 corporate travel providers in the UK. With Andy on board we are looking forward to developing the business still further and growing our place in the market.”

Andy McLundie commented “For me, being part of this journey and taking WDT Corporate Travel to the next level is going to be very exciting. WDT has an excellent service proposition, and combined with the technological infrastructure that being part of EFR Travel brings, we are in a strong position to develop within our core Scottish markets and beyond.   I’m looking forward to working with my established team of highly dedicated professionals within the business and have a very clear plan on our strategy for success, working with existing clients and developing new client relationships into the future.”
