Leann Brown, new Associate joins Private Client team at Lindsays

Experienced lawyer hailed as great asset says she’s delighted to be joining firm

LINDSAYS, the Scottish legal firm for people and businesses, has expanded its Private Client team with the appointment of a new Associate.

Leann Brown has joined amid increased demand for legal services in this area and will be based as part of the lawyers’ operation in Dundee.

She brings with her 12 years of experience of working across the full spectrum of Private Client work, Wills and Powers of Attorney, setting up trusts, elder client law, the administration of trusts and executries, and providing estate planning advice.

She has spent the last eight years with Miller Hendry in Dundee, working with clients across Tayside and beyond.

Mrs Brown studied law at the University of Dundee, where she also completed a Masters degree in civil engineering – with distinction – followed by a diploma in legal practice.

She said: “I am delighted to have joined Lindsays. This is a great opportunity for me to progress my career as part of a team highly regarded for the calibre of its work.

“Private Client services is an area of law which has a real impact on people personally. All of our circumstances are different and I believe there is growing awareness of the importance of the need to take professional advice to ensure our affairs are in order when it comes to life planning, to benefit ourselves and our families. That’s something which has fallen into sharp focus during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I am looking forward to working with Lindsays’ clients to ensure the steps people take are the most appropriate ones.”

The latest appointment is one of a number made by Lindsays to its team across all departments in Dundee in recent years. The firm also has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Grant Johnson, Partner and Head of Private Client at Lindsays, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Leann to our team. Her appointment reflects the growing demand for our legal services in this area and will further enhance the services we provide.”

Dundee-based Private Client Partner Caroline Fraser, who has worked with Mrs Brown previously, added: “I am delighted to be working alongside Leann again and to have her as part of the Lindsays team. She’s a great asset, bringing with her a wealth of experience in offering excellent legal advice.”

Elsewhere at Lindsays, Qasim Ali has been appointed as a solicitor with the Corporate and Technology team, based in Glasgow.

Previously with Pinsent Masons, he has experience of advising a variety of commercial clients including SMEs, banks, international companies and business owners. He is able to assist with mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts as well as general corporate matters.
