Independent property firm Galbraith has boosted its building consultancy division with two new appointments, as the firm continues to grow.

David Shine joins Galbraith as a project manager in Inverness, with a focus on rural and commercial construction projects.

George Price has been appointed as a graduate building surveyor based in the firm’s Edinburgh office where he will provide a variety of services across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

Peter Scott Aiton, partner and head of the building consultancy division at Galbraith, said: “I am delighted to welcome David and George to the firm at a time when we are seeing growing demand for specialist technical expertise across Scotland.

“Our clients are investing in a range of innovative projects, from refurbishment of premium office premises to major new-build construction projects in the leisure, retail and industrial sectors. The noticeable growth in property investment has also led to an increase in the number of professional instructions for our team, with Galbraith undertaking several acquisition and occupier surveys in connection with prospective landlord and tenant deals.

David Shine commented: “I am excited to join a leading, multi-disciplinary building consultancy with a commitment to excellence. I look forward to contributing to its continued growth, by offering expert project management services and advice to our new and existing clients to help them to achieve their goals.”

Prior to joining Galbraith, David spent eight years in the Army as an Officer in the Royal Engineers where he managed a variety of military construction projects both in the UK and abroad.

George has recently completed an MSc in Building Surveying and has recent experience as a graduate building surveyor in the sector, which provided him with the right skills to offer tailored advice to clients. Galbraith will support George through his Assessment of Professional Competence examinations from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors to become a Chartered Surveyor.

Galbraith provides the full range of surveying and building consultancy services for commercial, rural and residential property across the UK, including: technical due diligence, project management, energy efficiency consultancy, building  and condition surveys, dilapidations advice, landlord and tenant negotiations and insurance reinstatement cost assessments.
