Murphy Wealth has bolstered its senior team as it continues to pursue ambitious growth plans, appointing highly experienced financial planner Shane Presley.

Presley joins the Glasgow-based wealth manager as a senior financial planner, bringing more than 30 years of experience across financial advice, planning and investment. His appointment comes at a pivotal time for the firm, which is expanding its team following a record year of growth.

A member of both the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), Presley specialises in supporting families, professionals and business owners to make informed financial decisions and plan for the future. In his new role, he will also contribute to Murphy Wealth’s ongoing expansion while helping to develop and support the wider team.

Prior to joining Murphy Wealth, Presley held senior roles at boutique firms, focusing on ethical investment and financial planning for healthcare professionals and business owners. He has also worked with some of the UK’s largest wealth management groups, further strengthening his breadth of industry experience.

His appointment follows a strong year for Murphy Wealth, with turnover rising by 20% year on year and approaching £3 million for the first time. As part of its continued growth strategy, the firm plans to significantly increase headcount throughout the remainder of 2026 and has already welcomed Lucy Arbuckle onto its graduate scheme.

Commenting on his new role, Presley said: “Murphy Wealth is all about understanding clients, their circumstances, and providing a service that matches those exact needs – that really resonated with me and aligns with the way I’ve aimed to work throughout my career. With tax changes and pensions being brought into people’s estates from next year, the advice we give to clients and taking a holistic approach to financial planning has seldom been more important.

“It’s an exciting time to join a growing firm that has genuinely committed to human-first financial planning – it’s already clear to me that clients value the service Murphy Wealth offers and buy into its philosophy. This is a unique role and precisely what I was looking for at this point in my career.”

Adrian Murphy, CEO of Murphy Wealth, added: “Shane is a great addition to our team: he gets what we are trying to deliver for our clients and his values are closely aligned with our own. He understands that good financial planning is about more than money – it’s about helping people live the lives they want. His deep technical expertise and experience of putting that into practice for clients will be invaluable, and hugely supportive to the wider team.

“Murphy Wealth continues to go from strength to strength, and Shane’s arrival helps take us further along that journey. As more families, business owners and professionals look for ways to navigate the increasingly complex financial landscape, we look forward to further adding to the team in the remainder of the year.”
