MORRIS & SPOTTISWOOD, a leading construction company, has strengthened its commitment to the food and drink manufacturing sector by appointing Katy Higham as Framework Manager. This strategic move aligns with the company’s growth plans and client-focused delivery strategy in the food and drink industry.

As the newly appointed Framework Manager, Katy Higham will serve as a dedicated point of contact for clients, offering expert guidance, coordination, and efficient services. Leveraging her decade-long experience in the food and drink and pharmaceutical sectors, Katy will support clients in establishing project requirements and oversee the full turnkey delivery of new build and retrofit projects. Her focus on early engagement aims to minimise disruptions and streamline the process by supporting both design and project management.

Based in Warrington, Katy brings a wealth of experience from her roles as a project engineer, project manager, and design manager for leading manufacturers, both in-house and as a consultant. Her expertise will complement Morris & Spottiswood’s larger Production and Manufacturing (P&M) team as they capitalise on recent contract wins and continue to expand in the food and drink sector.

Morris & Spottiswood has been providing P&M services for many years, specialising in working within live environments to build, reconfigure, and upgrade production facilities and offices. The company’s strategic approach ensures minimal disruption to ongoing processes while maintaining robust hygiene and health and safety practices during extensive works.

Spencer Lee, Director of Production & Manufacturing at Morris & Spottiswood, expressed enthusiasm about Katy’s appointment, stating, “We have been steadily growing our P&M business over the last few years and are currently focusing on opportunities in food and drink, building our team and expertise to expand this offering and meet market demand.” He highlighted Katy’s client-side understanding and pharmaceuticals expertise as valuable assets for the company’s growth.

Katy Higham shared her excitement about joining Morris & Spottiswood during a pivotal growth period. With her extensive background in the food and drink and pharmaceuticals sectors, she is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of working in live environments and meet clients’ expectations for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and certainty.

Founded in Glasgow in 1925, Morris & Spottiswood operates across the UK in fit-out, M&E, and housing, with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Livingston, Warrington, and Leeds.
