Monteviot Lights is seeking a charity partner

MONTEVIOT Lights, the enchanting winter light festival set to debut this year, is excited to announce its search for a local charity partner in the Scottish Borders. The primary aim of this partnership is to extend a helping hand to the local community and support the vital work of a deserving charity.

The selected charity partner will receive a generous donation of 250 tickets for Monteviot Lights, valued at approximately £4,500. These tickets can be distributed among the people the charity serves or used to raise funds through auctions. Monteviot Lights is committed to making a meaningful difference in the Scottish Borders, and this partnership opportunity aligns with their vision of spreading joy while giving back.

The selection process for the charity partner will unfold as follows:

Charity Partnership Launch – The quest for a charity partner officially kicks off on October 12, 2023.

Nomination Period – Charitable organizations are invited to nominate themselves by emailing Monteviot Lights or by commenting on the Charity Partnership post on Monteviot Lights’ Facebook or Instagram pages.

Nomination Deadline – All nominations must be submitted by October 23, 2023. Following this, a shortlist of nominees will be compiled based on popularity.

Public Vote – The shortlisted charities will be presented to the public for a vote via Monteviot Lights’ social media channels.

Announcement of Charity Partner – The charity partner, selected by popular vote, will be officially announced on November 1, 2023.

To be eligible for consideration, charities must meet the following criteria; the charity must be registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) and possess a valid charity number and the charity should be actively engaged in supporting and enriching the lives of communities within the Scottish Borders.

Michael, the 13th Marquis of Lothian, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership search, stating, “We do not only want Monteviot Lights to be a fantastic event for families, but we also want the event to be a force for good in supporting communities across the Scottish Borders. This is why we are beginning our search for a local charity partner who we can work with and support. As we hope the event will be staged annually, we also hope to be able to support more worthwhile causes each year across the Borders.”

This initiative marks Monteviot Lights’ commitment to giving back to the community and illuminating the lives of those in need. Join us on this journey to make a positive impact and bring light to the Scottish Borders.
