Aberdeen International Airport in partnership with CHC Helicopters have held the biggest ever Runway Run raising thousands of pounds for charities.

Nearly 400 runners were able to take on the 4km Runway Run lit up runway on Saturday night.

It is the fifth time the Runway Run has been held and this year saw £50,000 raised for charities AberNecessities and Forget Me Not Club.

Robert Paterson, Head of Operations at Aberdeen International Airport said: “I am delighted we have delivered an amazing event raising some vital funds for both charity partners.

“A huge thank you to our volunteers and everyone at CHC Helicopters for their hard work.

“Congratulations to every runner that took part in what was a truly unforgettable event.”

Sponsors this year included Ace Aviation, ABM, Alpha Fencing, ATPI, NATs, Hampton By Hilton and Munro’s Travel.

Northsound One was also the official media partner for the 2024 event.

CHC Helicopter Captain Ryan Broadhurst, who helps coordinate the run with the airport’s operations team said: “I want to say a huge thank you to our sponsors who helped elevate the Runway Run this year along with Northsound One as our official media partner.

“Every year our run team works incredibly hard to organise this event and it is always great to see the support we receive from participants.

“This was our biggest Runway Run yet and it didn’t disappoint.”
