LONG-SERVING staff at Johnston Carmichael, Scotland’s largest independent firm of chartered accountants and business advisers, have been recognised for their dedication to the business at an annual ceremony.

Johnston Carmichael holds a Long Service Awards Lunch every year to celebrate staff who have been employed with the firm for over 10 years.

This year’s ceremony, held at Perth Racecourse, honoured 30 award winners with a combined service of 565 years. Winners hailed from offices all over the country including Aberdeen, Inverness, Fraserburgh, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth, each receiving a gift and certificate to reward their achievement.

Reaching an impressive 40 years with the firm were Phyllis Davidson from Elgin, Helen Taylor from Perth and Sheila Connelly from Inverness.

Marion Beaumont in Inverurie was presented with her 35-year award; Fiona Robertson and Lorna Cruickshank from Elgin celebrated 30 years; and Susan Glennie in Aberdeen marked 25 years.

Five 20-year awards were presented, along with nine awards going to those who have celebrated 15 years. 10-year awards were also collected by another nine members of staff across the business.

Andrew Walker, Chief Executive of Johnston Carmichael, said, “2019 has been a year of great change for Johnston Carmichael, with leadership transitions and the opening of our new Dundee and London offices to name but a few examples. What hasn’t changed, however, is the dedication and hard work of our team.

“With over 850 staff, we know that what sets us apart as a firm is our people. It’s absolutely fantastic to see these levels of commitment from such a talented team, and we don’t take that loyalty for granted – we are always striving to ensure that each member of staff is empowered and supported to fulfil a job and a career path that they are passionate about.”
