Capital legal firm team sign up to take part in Cash for Kids cycling challenge

AN energetic group of legal professionals are set to hit the road this weekend to help disadvantaged children.

Cyclists from Edinburgh-headquartered Lindsays have signed up to take part in the Tour de Forth sportive, which the business is also sponsoring, in aid of Cash for Kids.

The group is preparing to clock up the miles – and help raise thousands of pounds – by taking part in the popular event.

Lindsays Chairman Peter Tweedie said: “It’s never been more important to ensure children from all backgrounds have every chance for the best life possible, especially with all of the challenges many families face because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Cash for Kids is a fantastic cause which does exactly that in the communities we are proud to work and live in, making a remarkable difference to young lives. We are delighted to be supporting them.

“As a firm, the health and wellbeing of our staff is high on our agenda, so it’s fantastic that we can combine encouraging exercise with fundraising – and no doubt a little internal competition as well. We can’t wait to get going.”

Tour de Forth, planned for Sunday, August 29, will see hundreds of participants take part in one of two routes around the River Forth – the 66-mile Classic, via the Forth Road and Kincardine Bridges, and the 35-mile Nouveau through Hopetoun to Threemiletown and back to the event HQ at RBS Gogarburn.

Lindsays has supported Tour de Forth as a partner – as well as with teams entering and raising funds – since 2017.

Victoria Hendry, Charity Manager at Cash For Kids, said: “We are absolutely delighted that, yet again, Lindsays are taking part and supporting our cycle sportive, Tour de Forth.

“After a break in the event last year due to Covid we are so excited to bring it back to the city and have over 400 cyclists joining us.

“Fundraising is such a key part of this event to ensure we are able to continue to support disadvantaged children in our local communities across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk. A huge thank you to Lindsays for their ongoing support of our event and for their efforts in fundraising. Good luck to all of those taking part.”
