Following the success of last year’s exhibition, the Highland Renewables Network has announced the return of its flagship industry event, Pipeline and Places – Exhibition and Supply Chain Sessions, taking place on Thursday, 21 May 2026 at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness.
The event will bring together organisations leading the Highlands’ renewable energy transition, alongside businesses and partners who are already contributing to or seeking to participate in the region’s rapidly evolving energy transition landscape.
Designed to foster meaningful connections and practical engagement, the day will feature an exhibition alongside targeted supply chain sessions. Attendees will gain valuable insight into upcoming projects, key stakeholders, and tangible opportunities for involvement across the Highlands.
Presentations will be delivered by senior representatives from Murphy and Vattenfall, with a strong focus on how local businesses can engage with major infrastructure and renewable energy developments. Exhibitors will include Murphy, Vattenfall, SSEN Transmission, Statkraft, Vinje Industri, Koehler Energy, PSG Marine, UHI, Highland Fuels, Johnston Carmichael and Adventra.
Paul Nickless, Lead Project Manager at Vattenfall, emphasised the importance of local involvement: “It’s critical that we maximise the participation of local businesses in the development that is happening and planned here in the Highlands. The capability exists within the Highland supply chain, and by working collaboratively, we can ensure that economic value is retained within the region while delivering high-quality projects.”
Mark Williams, Operations Manager at Murphy echoed this sentiment, highlighting the strategic importance of regional expertise: “Developing projects of the scale of those happening in the Highlands requires strong, capable partners and many of those partners are already based here in the region. Engaging the local supply chain is not just beneficial, it’s essential to delivering sustainable, efficient outcomes for the people and communities of the Highlands.”
