THE award-winning developer behind some of Glasgow’s most sought-after luxury residential developments has unveiled plans for a £10 million+ 34-property project on the city’s south side.

The five-story Waverley Park Apartments – which consists of two-bedroom private apartments and three-bedroom penthouses all with bespoke interiors – will be built in the heart of Shawlands, one of the most desirable areas in Scotland’s largest city.

The development is due to be completed in 2022, with buyers able to reserve properties with agents Savills from September this year, with prices beginning at £259,995.

Set in a tranquil area of Shawlands, Waverley Park Apartments – from developer Kelvin Properties – will include a host of attractive features, including a stunning roof garden with views over an immaculate neighbouring bowling green, private balconies for most apartments, lift access to all floors, 100% allocated car parking and an exclusive penthouse floor.

The development is just five minutes on foot from Queen’s Park as well as some of Glasgow’s best bars, cafes, restaurants and shops including Honeytrap Bakery, Strangebrew and Kilmurry & Co. There is also excellent public transport connectivity via bus from Kilmarnock Road, and train links from Crossmyloof with journey times to the city centre in just eight minutes.

News of the development comes at an exciting time for Shawlands, following the announcement of the £68 million redevelopment of Shawlands Arcade, which will includeimprovements to the streetscape, new retail units, and generous pavement areas to encourage the growth of the area’s already burgeoning café culture.

Waverley Park Apartments will be the first Kelvin Properties development delivered since the arrival of new Land Director Andrew Duncan, who joined from Cala Homes earlier this year.

Mr Duncan said: “The Waverley Park Apartments provide luxury accommodation in one of the fastest growing and popular areas in Glasgow.

“Shawlands has very quickly become one of the most desirable areas in the city, providing a high standard of living ideal for families and young professionals who want to enjoy life to the full.

“With an emphasis on contemporary features and design with luxury and practicality at its core, Waverley Park Apartments are ideal for buyers and families seeking the perfect place to make a home.”

Stephen McKechnie, founder of Kelvin Properties, said: “For more than 20 years, Kelvin Properties has proudly created some of Glasgow’s most prestigious and desirable residential developments, and Waverley Park apartments will be a proud addition to the portfolio.

“Shawlands is an area we have wanted to develop in for some time, and Waverley Park Apartments will be a fantastic addition to the area at a very exciting time.”

Founded in 1999 with a mission to help Glasgow thrive and flourish by building quality housing in key locations, West End-based Kelvin Properties has a proven track record of delivering major projects of real quality across the city and its surrounding areas.

These include the restoration of the former Broomhill Public School into an award-winning 68-apartment development at The Atrium.
