Jet2 has revealed more exciting news for customers today, by announcing the launch of flights and holidays to Egypt from Glasgow Airport, as well as a special offer on holidays to celebrate the arrival of the new destination.

From 11 February 2027, the award-winning tour operator and airline will operate year-round weekly Thursday services from Glasgow Airport to Hurghada – a move that will be warmly welcomed by holidaymakers.

To mark this exciting news, Jet2 has also unveiled details of a special launch promotion on all Jet2holidays to Egypt, offering £100 off per person on all holidays on sale to Egypt from Glasgow Airport. This means that as well as being able to experience all that the destination has to offer with the award-winning tour operator, holidaymakers can also enjoy a getaway to the sunshine favourite for much less.

Today’s launch comes in response to years of demand from customers looking to book award-winning holidays to Egypt, where holidaymakers can enjoy year-round sunshine and beautiful beaches.

Located on Africa’s north-eastern corner, beyond Egypt’s fascinating ancient history and luxury resorts, holidaymakers will find golden beaches along the Red Sea, ideal for snorkelling or simply soaking up those rays. Egyptian hospitality is also second to none, with friendly locals and delicious cuisine waiting at every turn. Whether it is culture, relaxation, or a bit of both, an Egypt getaway promises warmth, wonder and endless holiday memories.

The launch of year-round holidays and flights to Hurghada means that holidaymakers can enjoy turquoise water, endless coral reefs and fresh-off-the-boat seafood. Sprawling along Egypt’s Red Sea coast, this modern beachside region is best known for fly and flop holidays. Once a quiet fishing village, Hurghada has transformed into a year-round resort with something for everyone – from sandcastle building on golden sands to adrenaline-fuelled desert safaris. Holidaymakers can wander through the Old Town’s bustling souks, pause for sweet mint tea by the marina, and watch the Red Sea shimmer pink and gold as the sun sinks behind the mountains.

Jet2holidays has gone on sale with a range of 3 to 5-star hotels in the resorts of Hurghada, Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi Bay and Soma Bay, offering customers plenty of choice and flexibility.

As well as experiencing the delights of Egypt all year-round, customers can also choose award-winning holidays and flights, whether that is a package holiday with Jet2holidays, or a leisure flight with Jet2.com. Each of the brands have been recognised as a Which? Recommended Provider for providing industry-leading levels of customer service and customer experience.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be giving customers in Scotland even more choice thanks to the launch of Egypt as a brand-new destination from Glasgow Airport. With year-round availability to the magical destination of Hurghada, we are giving holidaymakers fantastic choice in an iconic holiday hotspot, and we cannot wait to get started. We are incredibly excited about this new destination, and we know how popular it will be with our customers, based on the demand out there. To celebrate our latest destination, we have also launched a special offer on all holidays to Egypt, so holidaymakers can get away for less.”

He added: “This latest expansion demonstrates the strength of our growing business, and it comes on the back of customers choosing to travel with us time and time again. Our award-winning proposition clearly continues to delight holidaymakers, and we look forward to welcoming even more customers onboard thanks to the launch of this new destination.”

Chris Tibbett, Aero Director at AGS Airports, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jet2’s exciting new route to Hurghada from Glasgow Airport. Egypt is a destination that offers year-round sunshine, stunning beaches, and incredible cultural experiences, so this new service will be hugely popular with Scottish holidaymakers. Jet2’s commitment to expanding choice for customers is fantastic news for the region, and we look forward to supporting the success of this route.”
