IWALKERS from digital roaming media specialist NomadiX are set to go global at two of the world’s largest gatherings for professionals within the industry.

Designed specifically to reach consumers in “out of home” locations, iWalker will be among the crowds from February 11-14 at the RAI Amsterdam, which is hosting the annual exhibition of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE). Billed as “the world’s biggest pro AV show”, ISE 2020 is expected to attract more than 81,000 registered attendees.

This will be followed by a trip to Las Vegas for the Digital Signage Expo, the “global gathering place for experience technologies”. More than 4,000 users, systems integrators, distributors, advertisers and marketing professionals will be at DSE 2020 between March 31 and April 3.

Organisers of both exhibitions will use the iWalker system to deliver important sponsor and event information to engage with visitors throughout the event.

“One of our core functions is to showcase the industry’s latest products and solutions, which is why we have partnered with iWalker at ISE 2020,” said Integrated Systems Events Managing Director, Mike Blackman.

iWalkers is one of the latest offerings from Scottish technology company NomadiX, which was set up in 2012 by owner Mark Evans. He describes iWalker as the outdoor advertising equivalent of pay-per-click display ads on the internet.

The system uses facial feature detection to collect a range of data that is impossible to amass from traditional billboards. It records how many people have looked at a message, for how long, and can also identify their gender and age group.

It can even be programmed to detect their emotional response to an ad, based on their facial features.

The 6kg iWalker is worn by a human who can roam through crowds and interact with consumers, creating a “bridge” between a customer and a traditional wall-mounted display.

“These are exciting times for NomadiX and iWalker,” Mark said. “These events coming up are some of the biggest in the industry, and will allow us to demonstrate the true power of our offering.

“In an increasingly fragmented media market, one shape no longer fits every message, nor indeed all circumstances. With iWalker, the message can move with the audience.”
