BATHGATE business Clarus Networks has been awarded £50,000 from West Lothian Council to take their growth plans to the next level.

The Clarus Networks Group use state-of-the-art technologies to provide business-critical connectivity to their customers, harnessing the power of major satellite communications and telecoms networks such as Starlink and OneWeb.

The specialist connectivity solutions experts provide robust, reliable, and scalable communications coverage for each project, including in remote areas where terrestrial signals are poor or non-existent.

To support the rapid growth of their business, the council has provided them with a £40,000 Growth Assistance Project Grant and a £10,000 Digital Development Grant to help create six new high-value jobs, invest in equipment and develop their IT infrastructure.

Depute Leader of West Lothian Council, Councillor Kirsteen Sullivan, who recently visited Clarus Networks Offices in Bathgate to see their innovative work first-hand, said: “It was fascinating to see a local firm involved in this leading-edge technology and partnering up with some of the biggest companies in the world.

“They have grown quickly in such a short space of time, creating good quality jobs for local people.  I look forward to seeing them go on to further success over the next few years.”

Launched in 2014 Clarus specialises in offering customers fully managed networking solutions to connect businesses with their teams across the world, no matter how remotely located they are. From energy and construction to retail and healthcare, Clarus works across a wide range of sectors providing network design, installation, and support services, keeping users online 24/7.

The business has grown rapidly over the last couple of years with the roll out of their Starlink and OneWeb services with contracts across the UK, Europe, Africa, and South America.

The Clarus Networks Group is an authorised reseller of Starlink services to Enterprise and Maritime customers across Europe. They also have the distribution rights with OneWeb, the low-earth-orbit satellite company and are one of the first companies in the UK to do so.

Debra Phillips, Director of Clarus Networks added: “The demand for our services has really taken off in recent years so the support from West Lothian Council has been invaluable to help us scale up and invest in new staff, equipment and IT Infrastructure.

“The technology that we provide, to connect to the internet almost anywhere in the world, with a reliable and fast connection is a real game changer for many businesses and sectors that were excluded from this previously.”
