AN Inverclyde-based welder has successfully launched his first business during Covid-19  following specialist start-up support and advice from Business Gateway.

Founded at the start of lockdown, Fletcher Fabworks, run by owner Gregor Fletcher, has completed seven orders with a further 15 enquiries received for future work.

The company provides bespoke metal fabrication service and specialises in the repair and creation of metal products, including steel and aluminium.

Working closely with Business Gateway, Gregor accessed a wide range of specialist start-up support. This included help securing business insurance, marketing advice and one-to-one support on his business plan.

Gregor said: “It is incredibly difficult at the best of times to start up your own business, never mind during a global pandemic. However, Business Gateway has provided vital support during this period, providing advice and help across a variety of areas including company regulations and my business plan.”
