An Inverclyde chiropractic practice has seen an increase in its patient base after the owner received specialist support from Business Gateway.

Fiona Hutchinson set up Inverclyde Chiropractic to help to reduce patient’s pain and increase mobility, using safe, natural, and effective chiropractic treatments.

With a patient-centred approach to healthcare, Inverclyde Chiropractic focuses on creating a welcoming environment so patients feel at ease in the practice.

A registered chiropractor with the General Chiropractic Council, Fiona has over 12 years of experience in the field and previously worked in Australia and other clinics throughout Scotland before setting up her own business in August last year.

She now employs two part-time Chiropractic Assistants to help with the running of the clinic and to enhance the client experience.

Fiona has found that many clients are happy to travel to her Gourock practice from places such as Dunoon, Lochgoilhead, Tignabruich and further afield, thanks to the reputation she has built since launching.

Fiona approached Business Gateway to get some extra support as she looked to start her business. In particular, she was looking for advice on available grants and guidance on how to start a business from scratch.

Fiona’s Business Gateway adviser, Alexis Watson, helped signpost her to funding for start-up and marketing support. This included support in promoting her business to the local community through marketing and in improving her Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to attract more people to her website.

Fiona Hutchinson, owner of Inverclyde Chiropractic, said: “The support I’ve had from Business Gateway has been incredible for my business to grow and to reach a wider audience. We’ve got people travelling over an hour to come to the practice, which is a great sign for the success of the business. Business Gateway has been such a good support system and to have Alexis there to speak to for advice has been great.”

Alexis Watson, Business Gateway adviser, said: “It’s fantastic to see patients spreading the good word about Fiona’s hard work, and to be able to supplement that with marketing support. Fiona is a highly trained and successful chiropractor with a wealth of experience, and it’s wonderful to see other people seeing the benefit of it.”
