Houseology Design Group, the online retailer offering interior design solutions in the B2C and B2B furniture and lighting sectors, has hired Laura Jamieson as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Jamieson, a University of Strathclyde alumnus, trained at PwC in audit and risk assurance before moving into the firm’s corporate finance team and going on to hold senior financial positions at Aggreko plc and Dobbies Garden Centres.  Most recently Business Development Director at Dobbies, Jamieson brings a strong track record in finance leadership, investor relations, fundraising and corporate governance.

Last month, Skyscanner Senior Vice President (SVP) Shane Corstorphine joined Houseology Design Group as Chairman to help guide CEO Andy Russell and his leadership team through what is expected to be a significant period of growth and an investment round set to commence in Q1 2020.  The company, which is backed by Sir Terry Leahy and a number of other high profile retail entrepreneurs, is targeting further sales growth in the UK and internationally and is on course for revenue in excess of £14 million in the current year.

Houseology Design Group comprises two main divisions –  Houseology.com, an online B2C interior design store and Bureau, a B2B commercial furniture consultancy.  Founded in 2010, Houseology Design Group has been led by CEO Andy Russell since 2016 when Bureau, the company he previously founded, was acquired by Houseology.  Bureau’s client list includes Skyscanner, FanDuel, Trainline, TransferWise, Chivas Brothers, Baxters and a series of UK and international financial institutions.  The group is expected to announce a series of new business wins over the next few weeks.

Andy Russell, CEO of Houseology Design Group, said: “Laura’s financial acumen is underpinned by strong leadership skills, a talent for business development and a keen understanding of both B2C and B2B markets.  Laura’s hire is key for us as we enter the next phase of growth and start firming up plans for the forthcoming investment round. We will be looking to further strengthen the leadership team this year and will shortly be announcing a number of recent client wins that will contribute to a strong operating and financial performance across the group in 2019.”

Laura Jamieson, CFO, Houseology Design Group, said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Andy and the team at Houseology Design Group, not least because of the massive potential to take further market share in B2C and B2B markets in the UK and internationally.  While the business is already in great shape, I look forward to contributing to the future successes of the group in the weeks and months ahead.”

Shane Corstorphine, Chairman, Houseology Design Group, said: “Laura brings considerable expertise in financial strategy and planning, corporate finance and business development, alongside a customer focus that will serve the group well as we target further growth and market disruption with best-of-class technology in a marketplace in which we have an increasing competitive advantage.”
