AN award-winning home care company with offices across Glasgow, Stirling, and Falkirk are launching a large recruitment drive due to an increase in demand for their live-in care services since the Covid-19 outbreak began. Their live-in services have increased by 50 percent over the past few months, as many people have sought alternative options to care homes.

Home Instead Senior Care which has offices in Glasgow North, Glasgow South, Stirling, and Falkirk are looking to recruit 50 live-in caregivers and 200 regular caregivers over the next twelve months, to satisfy significant demand for their high-quality home care.

The lockdown has seen demand for their newly-launched live-in services increase by 50 percent over the past few months, alongside their home care services which have risen by 30 percent since the beginning of the year. The company has recruited 60 new caregivers since lockdown began and has now launched a mass recruitment drive across their local territories.

Home care has been increasingly popular in the wake of the pandemic, as it more effectively ensures the safety of elderly people by limiting their contact with external individuals. Elderly people can remain in the comfort of their own home, supported by familiar caregivers who provide companionship, which has been invaluable during a time where many seniors could not see their friends or family.

Suhail and Tasnim Rehman, owners of Home Instead commented: “We are committed to providing high-quality at-home care for seniors, for which we have seen enquiries sky-rocket over the past couple of months throughout all of our offices. Lockdown has demonstrated the benefits of elderly people continuing to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible, with our home care services aiding this.

“We are looking to recruit 250 new caregivers over the next twelve months. Many people who have been made redundant in the current climate could consider a career-change to caring. We have had people from all walks of life and all sectors including aviation, retail, hospitality and customer services applying, but they one thing they all have in common is their love of caring and their desire to provide the best possible service to our clients.

“Our caregivers are specially matched to our clients based on their personalities and interests, creating strong bonds with one another through visits that are a minimum of one hour long. We schedule our caregiver visits so that they look after the same few clients, meaning our clients always see a friendly, familiar face on a regular basis.”
