A Scottish public relations agency has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of two seasoned communications professionals from a fellow Edinburgh agency.
The move sees Annie Diamond and Roddy Scott join Holyrood PR following a record year of growth, as the firm deepens its focus on storytelling that connects people in an age increasingly shaped by AI.
Both bring decades of experience across journalism, higher education, events and agency leadership – skills that align perfectly with Holyrood PR’s belief that technology should enhance, not replace, the human touch in communication.
Annie joins as Associate Director following six years in a leadership role at Hot Tin Roof, where she led award-winning campaigns for clients across education, technology and the public sector.
With more than two decades’ experience spanning agency, in-house and freelance roles, Annie has built a reputation for intelligent, people-focused communications. A mother of three from Edinburgh, she will continue to work one day a week in a freelance capacity for Heriot-Watt University.
Annie said: “Holyrood PR has always stood out for its clarity of purpose and genuine storytelling ethos. There’s an honesty and warmth to the way the team works that instantly appealed to me. I’m excited to bring my experience to such a creative, ambitious agency.”
Roddy joins as Senior Associate, bringing a career that bridges broadcast journalism, live sports events entertainment production, film production and communications. A former STV reporter and presenter, he later combined freelance broadcasting with a 10-year stint as the live match host and stadium announcer at Murrayfield, before spending 15 years with Red Sky at Night Events.
Since moving into PR in 2022, Roddy has developed a reputation for helping organisations communicate complex messages with clarity and personality. He will bolster the agency’s popular media training service.
Roddy said: “Storytelling has been at the core of everything I’ve done – whether that’s in front of a camera, behind a microphone or now in PR. Holyrood PR’s ability to make stories accessible and authentic really resonated with me. It’s a team that understands how to make communication human.”
Deputy Managing Director Chris Fairbairn said: “Annie and Roddy bring a depth of experience that will immediately strengthen our team. Both have built impressive careers shaped by curiosity and creativity, which fits perfectly with how we work here.
“We’ve just come through our strongest year yet amid a challenging landscape – one defined by growth, new ideas and brilliant client results.
“As we embrace new technologies like AI, we’re also holding firm to what it is that defines our agency: finding the human heartbeat in every story and helping organisations share that with the world.”
The duo’s arrival comes amid a period of sustained growth for the Leith-based agency, which has recently added new contracts with BRAID UK, COSLA, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, Homeless Network Scotland and Greenspace Scotland.
