Scottish independent accountancy firm Henderson Loggie has received national recognition, being shortlisted for two significant awards that underscore its robust growth, distinctive workplace culture, and influential role within the professional services landscape. The firm is a finalist for ‘Learning & Development of the Year’ at the cHeRries Awards and ‘Professional Services Firm of the Year’ at the British Business Awards.
The nomination for ‘Professional Services Firm of the Year’ at the British Business Awards acknowledges organisations demonstrating exceptional client impact, innovation, and industry leadership. Judges evaluate commercial success over a three-year period, alongside commitment to people, culture, and thought leadership. This shortlisting follows a period of notable performance for Henderson Loggie. The firm, which asserts its position as Scotland’s second-largest independent accountancy firm, reported a 13% increase in annual turnover, reaching £14.5 million for the year ending March 2025. Pre-tax profits saw a 22% rise to £4.3 million, up from £3.5 million in the previous year. Over the past six years, the firm’s turnover has more than doubled, and its profits have nearly tripled. The company also highlighted a 28.9% increase in turnover and a nearly 50% jump in pre-tax profit over three years, demonstrating sustained financial health and strategic effectiveness.
Founded in Dundee in 1909, Henderson Loggie now operates with over 190 partners and staff across its offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, and Glasgow, with Dundee serving as its headquarters. The firm’s strategic expansion includes upgraded offices in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, ongoing growth in Glasgow, and a planned redevelopment of its Dundee headquarters, reinforcing its commitment to the Scottish market. This expansion strategy stands out in an era marked by significant consolidation within the UK accountancy sector, often fuelled by private equity investment and mergers. Private equity has become a mainstream feature, with approximately a quarter of mid-tier firms now PE-backed. Industry surveys indicate that a striking 86% of UK accountancy firms were approached by private equity houses or other external investors in 2024 alone. Despite this pervasive trend, Henderson Loggie has maintained its independent, owner-managed status, distinguishing itself by prioritising long-term investment in its workforce and communities rather than pursuing outside capital or acquisition.

Beyond its financial and people development successes, Henderson Loggie is also enhancing its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) presence. The winners of the British Business Awards are scheduled to be announced at a ceremony in Edinburgh on 30 April 2026, which is also set to feature a special guest appearance from actor George Clooney and aims to raise £1 million for the homelessness charity Social Bite.
