Hardies appoints Associate in Edinburgh office

Hardies Property & Construction Consultants has appointed Chartered Quantity Surveyor David Alexander as an Associate in its Edinburgh office.

With extensive experience in a wide variety of projects across a number of sectors including private, social and student housing, retail banking and commercial office sectors, education and building conservation sectors, Alexander provides clients with a range of quantity surveying, employer’s agent and project management services.

A graduate of Napier University, Alexander began his quantity surveying career with local firm Morham & Brotchie Partnership before studying for a Masters Degree in Technology Management at Stirling University. He joins Hardies following posts with several national consultancies and three years with a leading developer of student accommodation.

Commenting on his appointment, Alexander said: “I’m delighted to join a multi-disciplined practice that continues to expand its operations and am pleased to be given an opportunity to play a part in serving clients throughout Edinburgh and south of Scotland.”

Established in 1913, Hardies Property & Construction Consultants is an established and respected multi-disciplined practice specialising in Construction Services, Project Management, Building and Quantity Surveying, Energy Services, Principal Designer and Clerk of Works.

In 2016 Hardies merged with valuation surveying firm Shepherd Chartered Surveyors and acquired the quantity surveying firm Binnie McKenzie Partnership in Glasgow in 2018. The combined operation has 34 offices in Scotland with a staff of circa 450. The firms are now unrivalled in their reach and service offering.
