Knight Property Group is set to commence the final phase of speculative development at its highly successful Langlands Commercial Park in East Kilbride, having secured planning consent from South Lanarkshire Council. Muir Construction has been appointed as the main contractor for the new 30,000 sq ft industrial warehouse, with construction scheduled to begin in January and completion anticipated by Summer 2025.

Set on a 2.60-acre site, this £6 million development will comprise a 27,967 sq ft warehouse and a 1,991 sq ft office suite, alongside a concrete yard of 0.74 acres, ample parking and EV charging points. Built to a high specification, the unit will feature steel portal frame construction and high-performance cladding plus expansion space for an additional floor of offices being built to shell specification. Designed with sustainability in mind, it is targeting an EPC ‘A’ rating and BREEAM “Very Good” standard. The fit-out can also be tailored to meet the specific requirements of individual occupiers.

This project marks the final phase of Knight’s speculative development at Langlands, following the successful letting and sale of the park’s three previous phases.

Howard Crawshaw, Managing Director of Knight Property Group said:

“Our commitment to sustainable, speculative industrial and logistics development is underscored by our ongoing investment programme across Lanarkshire. Building on the success of the previous phases of our Langlands project, we are confident that this new development will be well-received by the Scottish market, attracting new businesses and creating valuable jobs for the region. We are happy to be working again with Muir Construction.”

Alan Muir, Joint Managing Director of Muir Construction added:

“Our team is committed to delivering high-quality, state-of-the-art facilities that will meet the needs of modern businesses and contribute to Lanarkshire’s continued economic growth. We look forward to working again with Knight and bringing this vision to life and creating this exciting new industrial development.”

Langlands Commercial Park is located within the well-established Kelvin South and Langlands industrial areas of East Kilbride. Nearby occupiers include Sainsburys Distribution, Briggs Equipment and Corney & Barrow. It is prominently situated with excellent frontage to the A726 Strathaven Road, linking to the town centre and Hurlawcrook Road. It has excellent connectivity to Scotland’s main motorway network, serving central Scotland and beyond.

Alan Gilkison, Partner at Ryden added:

“With the ongoing demand for high-quality industrial and logistics space, this final phase of new development at Langlands is a timely and much-needed addition to the market. Strategically located with easy access to major transport links, the facility is designed to accommodate modern business needs, offering flexible, efficient spaces that meet the highest standards. We anticipate strong interest from occupiers looking to expand or relocate.”
