A GLOBAL tech firm has expanded its UK footprint with the appointment of 17 consultants in Edinburgh.

Saggezza, a US-headquartered provider of technology solutions with offices across the UK and India, has ramped up its UK recruitment efforts over the past six months, as it looks to surpass the 200 headcount mark next year.

This has seen the company create a host of roles, from graduate to lead-level positions across software development, testing and Salesforce configuration and implementation.

The company’s continued commitment to the UK follows a series of new contract wins and has also led to the onboarding of eight consultants in Birmingham and a further 35 at its UK HQ in Sunderland over the past six months.

Rob Gwyther, director of delivery at Saggezza UK, said: “We have doubled in size over the past year despite the pandemic and our UK business has played a key role in generating new business and helping deliver solutions for some of the world’s biggest brands.

“This success not only led to the recent acquisition of Saggezza by Infostretch – but has also resulted in further investment into our UK operations – as we continue to expand our presence across the country and establish teams in multiple geographies, especially Edinburgh.

“Not only is Edinburgh home to two world-class universities, but it also has a thriving digital technology sector and scores of innovative, fast-growing businesses, providing the perfect eco-system for growing tech companies – such as ourselves – to tap into a rich talent pool of workers and scale at pace.”

Saggezza is now actively recruiting for developers, lead developers, architects and test engineers across Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds, London and Sunderland, with more roles to be advertised over the coming months.

Rob added: “Be it delivering complex solutions for global banking giants or working on joint projects with our teams in India and the US to improve the customer journey for high street retailers, we could never have achieved this growth had it not been for the dedication of our employees to always deliver for our clients, and the company’s continued commitment to the UK is the perfect testimony of that.”

One of the newest recruits to join Saggezza’s growing Edinburgh team is Damien Manceau, lead developer, who joined the company from JP Morgan. Boasting over eight years’ experience in the industry, Damian saw the opportunity to join Saggezza as ‘an exciting opportunity to help drive the company’s growth in Scotland.’

He said: “It is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Edinburgh based team at its early stage, and to participate in the growth of Saggezza in Scotland. I was also attracted by the quality of the projects, and the exciting challenges that the company’s consultants are so often working on.”

Another of the new recruits is Heather Carter, test engineer, who joined Saggezza from PayPal having worked in the industry for four years.

Speaking about her new challenge, she said: “It is amazing to be a part of the growth at Saggezza in Scotland. Helping build a test team is an exciting opportunity and one I’m really looking forward to being involved in. The team here have a real passion for software testing and it’s been a fantastic experience so far.”
