Global Infrastructure has announced the launch of a new division, Specialist Works, as it looks to strengthen client retention and unlock further opportunities for sustainable, framework-led growth.
The move comes as the business targets a multi-million-pound turnover in its first year, with expectations of continued growth through years two and three, underpinned by strong market demand and a promising pipeline of tender opportunities.
The newly formed division is designed to complement Global Infrastructure’s larger-scale operations by delivering smaller, specialist and time-critical civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Andy MacRae, Director at Global Infrastructure, said: “Specialist Works has been launched to strengthen Global Infrastructure’s ability to deliver smaller, specialist and time-critical civils, maintenance, and infrastructure projects alongside its larger-scale operations.
“It gives the overall business an agile delivery capability for complex local works, maintenance, and specialist civils packages – helping clients access the same standards, systems, and expertise of a larger contractor through a faster and more flexible delivery model.”
Broad service offering
Global Infrastructure – Specialist Works will deliver a wide range of small to medium-scale civil engineering and infrastructure packages. These include EV charging infrastructure, flood alleviation works, drainage, ducting, reinstatement, foundations, concrete bases, access roads, hardstandings, fencing, refurbishment works, bridge and access improvements, as well as hydro and reservoir-related maintenance.
The division will also undertake works within live operational environments, requiring careful planning, safety management and close client coordination.
Early traction with key clients
Specialist Works has already secured contracts and is progressing a number of developing workstreams with established clients including Diageo, Capstone, SSER and SSEN. This includes early contractor involvement in EV charging infrastructure projects, alongside flood alleviation opportunities and ongoing maintenance and specialist civils packages.
MacRae added: “Our focus will be on securing repeatable, framework-based contracts across energy infrastructure, renewables, distillery environments, and maintenance-led works where Global Infrastructure already has a strong track record.
“As well as building on long-standing relationships with clients, we will target opportunities with new and adjacent clients across the utilities, private development, waterways, local authority infrastructure, industrial facilities, and specialist access markets. This gives the business a balanced route to growth through both trusted existing relationships and carefully selected new opportunities.”
Healthy pipeline supports growth
The division enters the market with a strong secured workload and a healthy pipeline spanning energy, industrial, private development and wider infrastructure sectors.
Forecasts indicate a multi-million-pound turnover in 2026, with the potential for significant uplift should proposed SSE EV charger and flood mitigation contracts proceed as planned. In addition, the business is currently reviewing a number of tender opportunities which, combined with EV charging and flood alleviation prospects, are valued at more than £20 million.

The launch follows a period of sustained growth for Global Infrastructure, which earlier this year made three director-level appointments – including MacRae – as part of 25 new hires. The company is currently pricing, tendering and engaging with opportunities that could total up to £500 million across the energy and utilities sectors over the next five years.
