Glasgow-based Westica Communications Limited has been acquired by secure Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) specialist Serbus for an undisclosed sum, marking the group’s fourth acquisition since December 2022.
Founded in 1994, Westica brings more than three decades of expertise in the design, deployment and support of microwave and UHF/VHF radio networks, alongside critical communications systems, cyber-secure networking and infrastructure solutions. The company has built a strong reputation delivering resilient wireless communications and secure connectivity across sectors including utilities, emergency services, government, transport, oil and gas, and enterprise.
Serbus, which is backed by private equity firm Aliter Capital, is pursuing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy to establish itself as a leading UK provider of secure networking and ICT infrastructure managed services within the CNI sector. The addition of Westica strengthens its technical capabilities and expands its footprint in Scotland.

Westica directors Stevie Dynes and Andy Hunwicks will remain with the business, working alongside Serbus and Aliter to drive future growth and integration. The leadership continuity is expected to support ongoing client relationships and maintain the firm’s technical focus.
