GLASGOW-based sports scholarship leader FirstPoint USA has announced an exciting new collaboration with global manufacturing solutions provider Jabil Inc., which will open unique employment opportunities for FirstPoint USA’s student-athlete graduates.

Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, and employing 260,000 people, Jabil is a NYSE listed company with more than 100 sites in 30 countries. Many of the world’s leading brands rely on Jabil’s unmatched technical and design capabilities, manufacturing know-how, supply chain insights and global product management expertise, offering a vast range of career opportunities across multiple industry sectors.

“We are thrilled to work with Jabil – a Fortune 200 company – which further bolsters the after-care support we offer our student-athlete clients,” said Andrew Kean, FirstPoint USA founder and Chief Executive.

“This is a really exciting opportunity for those clients graduating from colleges and universities across the United States, with the chance to kick off their career at such a prestigious organisation, whether they come from an engineering, design, finance or other academic backgrounds.”

“We are committed to providing a full service to all our clients, from the moment they sign with us through their four years of study and beyond, and this collaboration extends that level of support even further,” he added.

Robin Forster, Senior Human Resources Director for Jabil, is looking forward to developing the new FirstPoint USA collaboration.

“We have admired FirstPoint USA’s business for a number of years and wanted to increase our reach to graduates with a sporting background, given the characteristics of our leadership personnel matched many of the behaviours and qualities displayed by successful athletes.”

“Having looked at the success of FirstPoint’s alum over their 20-year history, both in sport and in business, we know they have worked with many fantastic students, and we want to tap into that as a source of future leaders at Jabil. We have some recent FirstPoint USA graduates joining our workforce very soon and the team is excited about developing and growing the pipeline of talent.”

Jabil’s U.S. locations include San Jose, Albuquerque, and Vancouver, while their international presence includes Livingston, Scotland; Dublin, Ireland as well as Guadalajara, Wuxi, Singapore and Vienna.
