Harper Macleod backs council’s Business Growth Programme after supporting 200+ firms
Glasgow businesses are being urged to take full advantage of the Glasgow City Council Business Growth Programme, a vital initiative designed to help small enterprises. The call comes from law firm Harper Macleod, which has supported more than 200 businesses through the programme since becoming a delivery partner in 2017.
In addition to its core advisory role, Harper Macleod has hosted monthly legal clinics, offering free guidance to more than 70 businesses in the past two years alone.

The Business Growth Programme helps businesses tackle these issues head-on, giving them the legal and strategic foundations they need to grow with confidence.”

The firm’s work has helped businesses navigate complex legal landscapes while preparing for growth and innovation.
One standout example is SOLIS Group, a Glasgow-based facilities management company focused on sustainability. With Harper Macleod’s support, SOLIS aligned its business structure to its core services and achieved B-Corporation status. In partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University, SOLIS is now piloting a pioneering system in a major retail store to reduce emissions and boost operational efficiency.
Another success is Revenant, an award-winning design and motion studio specialising in animation and visual FX. Harper Macleod provided commercial contract support and helped strengthen the studio’s intellectual property protections, enabling long-term growth and client retention.
