A SCOTTISH law firm has marked its first year in business with the appointment of a new senior associate following a period of continued success.

McKee Campbell Morrison (MCM) was established in 2021 by Stacy Campbell, Maureen McKee Matheson, Fraser Morrison and Alan McKee, and the team has experienced significant growth during its first year of trading.

To support the ongoing expansion of the Glasgow-headquartered firm, Graham Wilson has joined MCM’s commercial property team as senior associate.

Graham, previously managing associate at Addleshaw Goddard, brings with him over 11 years’ experience in the legal sector, and has specialised in a range of real estate work such as acquisitions and disposals, lease transactions, secured lending, telecoms, and renewable energy.

Wilson said: “I’m delighted to join the team at MCM.  It’s a dynamic and innovative firm and this is a fantastic opportunity, working alongside Stacy Campbell to grow the commercial property side of the business.  I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into the new role and to being part of the firm’s development over the coming years.”

Fraser Morrison, Managing Director of MCM, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Graham to the team.  His commercial property expertise will be invaluable as we continue to focus on this sector as part of our business development.  Graham has an impressive track record, a fantastic Glasgow-based network, and he really understands the industry.”

MCM has significantly increased its headcount within its first year and now has ten fee-earners working across the core areas of property – commercial and residential, corporate, private client, litigation and insolvency.

Morrison continued: “We’ve had the best first year we could have wished for.  Despite the economic disruption and uncertainty caused by the pandemic, we have been pleased with the confidence in the market that persists.

“Corporate dealmaking has been incredibly robust in the past 12 months and we’ve been delighted to act for a number of clients on milestone deals.  Residential property activity is at levels that we haven’t seen since 2007, and our other key areas of commercial property, private client and dispute resolution have been consistently strong over the last year, so we’ve been able to adapt to market conditions and really flourish as a firm.

“Looking ahead, we hope to continue on this trajectory of growth and further expand our key practice specialisms.  We’re currently recruiting for our corporate team, and in the next year I believe we will have made a significant number of appointments across all areas of the business.  We also remain dedicated to supporting and growing our quality client base.”
