Glasgow-based digital healthtech company Phlo has been named in the inaugural Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50 list, recognising it as one of the country’s fastest-growing private businesses.
The company, which employs more than 130 people across the UK, secured its place on the list after recording 221.1% year-on-year revenue growth between FY2025 and FY2026, driven by the rapid expansion of its weight management services and wider digital healthcare platform.
The Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50 celebrates the nation’s 50 fastest-growing private companies, highlighting businesses achieving significant growth across a range of industries.
Phlo’s growth has been fuelled by its expanding digital pharmacy services and its API-powered infrastructure platform, Phlo Connect, which provides consumer healthcare technology for brands including Morrisons, Holland & Barrett and Jane Plan.
The company recently partnered with Holland & Barrett to build and operate the clinical and technology infrastructure behind the retailer’s newly launched weight management service.
Its direct-to-consumer platform, Phlo Clinic, also reported a 114% increase in sales year-on-year, while the business has expanded its digital offering with the launch of BrightTrack, a free companion app designed to support people using GLP-1 weight loss medications through dose tracking, symptom management and personalised insights.
Adam Hunter, chief executive of Phlo, said: “Being named on the first Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50 means a lot, and the credit sits squarely with our team. They’ve built and fostered Phlo’s reputation and the trust which patients place in us. It matters all the more because this is where we started and where we’ve chosen to build.
“There’s an old-fashioned yet persistent view that business can’t scale outside of London, that the talent and the capital sit elsewhere. We’ve never accepted that at Phlo. Scotland produces some of the best talent in the country, and our growth story over the last several years shows you can create high-value jobs here in Scotland and keep that talent at home rather than watching it head south or outside of the UK.
“We hope that being a part of The Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50 alongside so many other great Scottish businesses makes the case that Scotland remains one of the best places in the UK to build a business.”
In Case You Missed It:
Founded in Glasgow, Phlo has expanded its operations into major UK cities including London and Manchester, while continuing to develop its technology-led approach to healthcare delivery.
The company’s growth has been supported by investment from PXN, Thairm Bio and Scottish Enterprise, helping to accelerate the development of its digital pharmacy services and healthtech platforms.
Phlo is led by chief executive Adam Hunter, a founding member of the business who has overseen its commercial growth since launch, alongside chief operating officer Alistair Murray, whose experience spans pharmacy operations and technology-enabled healthcare transformation.
