A Glasgow convenience store has marked 21 years of serving its local community with a special anniversary celebration that brought together hundreds of customers for an afternoon of food, giveaways, and fun.
Ali’s Nisa Royston, which has been family-owned and operated since 2004, welcomed more than 300 people through its doors during the event, which saw over 300 complimentary goodie bags handed out alongside a wide spread of free food and refreshments.
Customers enjoyed freshly prepared samosas, rice, cakes, biscuits, ice cream and drinks, all provided as a thank you to the community for its loyal support over the years.
Reflecting on the day, store owner Raheem Ali said: “It was mayhem but really good! We were helped by our Co-op Wholesale representative, Fiona Shearer, who was present for nearly the full day. It was an amazing celebration and a real thank you to the local community who’ve supported us for two decades.”
The milestone was supported by Co-op Wholesale’s regional team and a number of supplier partners, whose contributions helped make the day a success.

Now into its third decade of trading, the store continues to serve customers with quality groceries, value-led promotions, and friendly customer service – something Raheem believes has helped them thrive in a competitive location.
“We’ve always focused on serving the community, that’s been our goal since day one,” he added. “Working with trusted wholesale partners helps, but ultimately it’s about knowing what people need and being there for them.”
