GLASGOW-based businessman, Suhail Rehman, has been recognised nationally for his business success.

The Great British Franchisee Awards recognise franchisees’ exceptional performance and business experience, ability to drive business growth, staff retention, customer satisfaction, community involvement, inspired leadership, and franchise involvement- factors Suhail was recognised for by the judges.

Named as a ‘Great British Franchisee’, Suhail is being celebrated for his outstanding business growth, building a multi-unit enterprise across Scotland. He owns Home Instead offices located in Glasgow North, Glasgow South, Ayrshire, Perthshire and Stirling which provide at-home care to older adults.

Since launching his first Home Instead office in 2013, Suhail has grown his enterprise hugely in a decade, launching additional offices alongside his wife and brother and implementing a centralised management structure.

As well as providing care to hundreds of older people across Scotland, Suhail’s franchise businesses employ more than 300 people, providing real career roles and progression within a rewarding sector. The local offices also give back to their local communities through services including dementia cafés, befriending lunch groups and fundraising events.

The offices also raised over 600kg of food for Trussell Trust Foodbanks across central Scotland during their recent festive charity drive, making sure no-one went hungry this Christmas.

Additionally, all 5 offices have been recognised by homecare.co.uk, the TripAdvisor of care, as some of Scotland’s top care providers. They also received the ultimate recognition by the Care Inspectorate when they were rated Double 6 (excellent) for the quality of their care and the support they provide to their clients. Less than 2 per cent of providers in Scotland achieve this standard.

Suhail commented: “It’s a huge honour to be recognised as a ‘Great British Franchisee’ and I’m very grateful to receive this award. The last two years have been exceptionally difficult for everyone, and if it wasn’t for the wonderful people in our team we wouldn’t have achieved our continued success. I’m taking this one on behalf of the team!”

Suhail also helps the Home Instead franchise network more widely, using his experience and expertise to guide other franchisees to achieve multi-unit growth, as well as sitting on multiple advisory boards which help guide strategy at a national level.
