A CHANCE TO meet other property people, enjoy networking, and hear from some experts in the industry will be possible at Auction House Scotland’s Property Masterclass this month. The event takes place from 7pm – 9.30pm on Wednesday 25th October at the Village Hotel, 7 Festival Gate, Glasgow.

Hosted by property auctioneer Auction House Scotland, the Masterclass event combines expert talks covering a range of areas in the property sector alongside some valuable networking, and it’s completely free to attend.

Guest speakers attending the October Masterclass include Michael Lennie, specialist finance broker at GO Financial Services who specialise in all things specialist property finance and buy-to-let, as well as bridging, commercial and development finance.

Michael has spent the last three years helping dozens of clients grow their buy-to-let portfolios and finance flips, conversions and developments. He enables clients to achieve their goals in property with financial solutions.

At the Masterclass, Michael will be covering the basics of lending and exploring how lenders will view your case depending on the property, the person and the situation. He will also be giving an overview of the current rental market and rates, before exploring bridging finance with demonstrative examples.

Also speaking at the event is experienced Property Investor Jennifer Olivier. With a love of interior design, she has flipped houses for over 10 years and now helps others to benefit from property too, through her business Olivier Shaw Property. She also owns a number of holiday lets, and has raised in excess of a million pounds in private finance.

Jennifer will be sharing tips and telling her story of how she moved from a job in HR to property, renovating run-down properties to transform them into beautiful homes.

Completing the trio of speakers is Brian Gilmour, Director at Indigo Square letting agents and property factors. Brian has been the director here for 7 years and has over 30 years’ experience working in the Glasgow residential property market.

Brian may also be familiar as Mr Blue Sky – the BBC Radio Scotland “property expert” appearing fortnightly on the Kaye Adams Morning Programme taking calls from listeners, giving advice, and providing his insight into the housing issues of the day.

Event host John Loudon of Auction House Scotland commented:

“There are still a lot of changes happening in the property market right now, and many investors and landlords are looking for more information and advice before they make any further moves. Our event provides an increasingly valuable opportunity for those in the industry to get together to share their experiences and concerns, whilst also gaining some useful insights and advice from property experts.”

“It’s incredibly useful to talk to people in the industry about their thoughts and opinions on the current market, and we have seen a huge number of attendees create lasting working relationships with people they have met at these events.”

“Regardless of their level of experience or background in property, we welcome anyone along to our Masterclass. If you’re just starting out in the sector, our event really is a great place to make some initial connections and learn from more experienced property people. And whilst there are a variety of property networking events that take place in Glasgow, Auction House Scotland’s is the only free-of-charge event of its kind.”
