GLOBAL immigration firm Fragomen is offering senior school pupils, university students and graduates in Scotland an opportunity to find out more about prospective careers in the world of immigration.

Following a successful launch in the aftermath of the Highers and A-Level disaster last year, the award-winning UK Immigration School will also bolster the credentials of participants who go on to pursue professional opportunities – especially in law – in this specialist area.

Applications to join the school – a free of charge online programme featuring prominent speakers from law, politics, economics, media and other key sectors – have now opened.

Fragomen, which has more than 4,500 staff offering specialist immigration support across 170 countries, said the series of evening sessions will provide a new avenue of learning at a time when Covid-19 restrictions have seriously constrained the study environment.

The five two-hour sessions will be staged during October and November this year.

Edinburgh-based Fragomen solicitor Kelly Hardman said: “We want to help students learn about the different facets of immigration.

“The immigration sector presents a multitude of career opportunities, and the school provides a platform for leading professionals to share their experience and knowledge.”

Fragomen believes the modern-day complexity of immigration merits a dedicated learning experience for would-be future entrants into the sector.

Kelly added: “Attendees will be able to list their participation on their CV, not only highlighting specialist knowledge but also demonstrating intellectual curiosity – potentially significant differentiators.

“We believe the timing of this initiative will help reinvigorate the learning environment. The pandemic constraints have undermined classroom and lecture-based learning, as well as work experience opportunities. We hope our school goes some way toward remedying that knowledge gap in the specialist area of immigration.”

The deadline for applying for Fragomen’s UK Immigration School is Tuesday, September 28 (2021). For further information and to apply, visit:
