Strathcona, the former Scone home of Bill Fehilly, past manager of Scottish rock icons Nazareth and The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, is set to go under the hammer as a residential conversion development opportunity in a live-streamed commercial property auction on 18th February 2025 at 2:30pm with a guide price of £250k.

The medieval town of Scone, which grew up around the monastery and royal residence, is home to Scone Palace, the original home of the Stone of Destiny, and is located four miles northeast of Perth.

Strathcona is located on Spoutwells Road within an established residential area of Scone where surrounding properties are of a similar age and type. Local amenities and facilities are available nearby.

The detached 1.5 storey dwelling house with garage attached was erected around the 1950’s.  In addition to a substantial garden area, the property owns a portion of the adjoining field shared with other owners of neighbouring properties.

The ground floor features a utility room, kitchen, hallway, WC, living room, dining room, sun-room and bedroom while the first floor comprises a landing, box room, bathroom and four bedrooms (one with en suite shower room).

Jonathan Reid, partner at Shepherd, said: “Abandoned around 2011, last August Strathcona was vested in Perth & Kinross Council following a compulsory purchase process. The property offers the opportunity for either refurbishment or redevelopment of possibly two houses, subject to planning.”

The auction will be held on 18th February 2025 at 2:30pm and interested parties should register at www.shepherd.co.uk/commercial-auctions
