Legendary rock band AC/DC is about to shake Scotland all night long with their first concert in the country in ten years. The iconic group has announced they will play Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on August 21, 2025, as part of their “Power Up” European tour.
This highly anticipated performance will mark the grand finale of AC/DC’s 12-show European tour, spanning 10 countries.
The Edinburgh concert holds special significance for the band, given their deep Scottish roots. Angus and Malcolm Young, the founding members of AC/DC, were born and raised near Glasgow before moving to Australia, where the group was formed in 1973.
Brian Johnson, the band’s lead vocalist, has previously spoken about AC/DC’s strong connection to Scotland. Reflecting on the creation of their latest album, Johnson shared: “When the band got together again to work on the album, they really wanted to do something for Malcolm – just to make him proud. He was the band… Malcolm’s idea. He was our leader.”.
The “Power Up” tour, named after their most recent studio album, has been making waves globally, reaching number one in 21 countries.
Fans can expect an electrifying performance featuring both new material and classic hits that have solidified AC/DC’s status as rock legends.
Tickets for this monumental event will go on sale on February 7, 2025, at 10 am.
Given the band’s massive following and the decade-long wait for their return to Scottish soil, fans are advised to act quickly to secure their spots. As AC/DC prepares to bring their thunderous sound back to Scotland, it’s clear that for fans, it’s been a long way to the top, but the wait is finally over.
