Europcar has added electric vehicles to its new location in Edinburgh

AS SUSTAINABLE travel and tourism continues to grow in popularity, local residents and visitors in Edinburgh can now rent a Tesla Model 3 or a Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 SUV from the Europcar branch at St James Quarter. The latest electric vehicle models to be added to the Europcar offering, provides drivers with the latest in green motoring technology while providing a superior driving experience.  

“More people are looking for eco-travel solutions to reduce their carbon footprint whether it’s for a leisure or business trip,” commented Ron Santiago, Managing Director, Europcar Mobility Group UK. “The continued adoption of electric vehicles by Europcar and increasing our network of hybrid and electric cars availability, underpins our ‘One Sustainable Fleet’ programme which aims to have at least 20% of our vehicles emitting less than 50g CO2 / km by the end of 2024.” 

According to the Insight Innovation Workcationing report1 consumers want to travel more sustainably and manage their interactions with a destination and its residents in a thoughtful manner. By introducing electric models, it provides both visitors to Edinburgh and local residents the option of choosing a greener mode of travel.  

Business and leisure travellers now have the option to collect vehicles from Europcar at Edinburgh Airport or from the centrally located St James Quarter, providing the ultimate in flexibility and convenience. From daily rental for those shorter journeys to long-term rental, Europcar can deliver a solution to meet the growing market for sustainable and greener transport needs. 

Europcar can be found on the Ground Floor of St James Quarter, with the desk open for bookings and vehicle collection six days a week (closed on Sundays).
