JBS and AM Campbell have been recognised by Peterhead Academy for their contribution to its learning partnership programme, which places pupils into real working environments to develop practical skills.
The award was presented during the school’s Senior Prizegiving ceremony, where HSE Engineer Paul McCafferty collected the honour on behalf of JBS. Several other local businesses were also acknowledged for their support.
The initiative is co-ordinated by Gillian McCafferty of JBS and Morna Fraser of AM Campbell, who work alongside colleagues to deliver the programme to S3 pupils. Designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry experience, the scheme offers two distinct strands.
At JBS, pupils take part in a mechanical fitting course, where they design, fabricate and assemble screw conveyors. Meanwhile, AM Campbell delivers an electrical programme, giving students valuable insight into electrical systems and services.
Throughout the programme, pupils gain hands-on experience within a live engineering environment, supported by experienced staff from both companies.

The programme reflects a wider commitment from both companies to support the development of future talent within the region.
Headquartered in Peterhead, JBS operates across four key areas: fabrication and structural engineering; blast containment systems for high-risk sectors including energy, aerospace and defence; screw conveyor design and manufacture; and subsea excavation using its patented Sea Axe technology.
