KIND-hearted staff from Pryme Group have completed a gruelling challenge to raise valuable funds for a leading men’s health charity.
Colleagues collectively walked, ran and cycled 4,143 miles over the course of a month – raising more than £4,000 in the process for national campaign, Movember.
The business, which is headquartered in Dundee and has additional operations across the country, provides integrated manufacturing solutions to a variety of industries, including the energy sector.
Participants from every single location joined forces to tackle 3,840 miles – the equivalent distance of six circuits around the company’s six UK sites – but were able to comfortably exceed their initial target.

Findlay Beveridge, managing director of Pryme Products, completed 1,037.6 miles by himself – through a combination of walking, rowing and cycling – to contribute towards the team’s overall goal.
He said: “Movember is such a great challenge because it allows employees at Pryme Group to come together and become part of a global effort to help a cause that affects so many people every day, but one which doesn’t get regular exposure.
“You can choose exactly what you want to do and any effort at all is greatly appreciated, regardless of capabilities. In a way, this initiative encourages others to get involved in something they wouldn’t normally consider, and contribute to the fundraising, knowing they are part of a global effort for good.
“I was proud to play my part because of the growing need to raise awareness of men’s mental health challenges and I’m mindful that it’s not only men who benefit from better understanding and treatments for these types of issues.
“It’s fantastic to know that we can make a difference and the awesome enthusiasm and participation amongst our Pryme Group team was a great motivator for me personally to keep increasing my target and help us reach our goal.”
Movember is an annual event held to raise awareness of men’s health issues. Since 2003, the charity has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world.
During the challenge, Pryme Group’s management team engaged with all staff to promote awareness and encourage conversations around men’s health. This included how to spot signs of depression, how to check for signs of testicular cancer and recognising the symptoms of prostate cancer.
Kerrie Murray, CEO at Pryme Group, who personally walked and ran 253 miles, added: “The team has put in a superb effort to beat our initial target and we’re all immensely proud of everyone who helped raise money for this important cause.
“This has been a very challenging year for everyone and maintaining good mental health has been more difficult than usual with all the stresses and uncertainties COVID-19 has brought with it. Now, more than ever, we need to pull together and look out for the wellbeing of our colleagues, friends and family.
“This the first time there has been a company-wide charity initiative like this, involving staff from across all our six locations, and I’m pleased to confirm that we are already planning our next challenge for sometime next year.”
