JUST hours after the announcement of Apple and OpenAI’s partnership, Elon Musk has already expressed strong opposition. The Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI owner declared his intention to prohibit Apple devices within his companies if Apple proceeds with integrating ChatGPT at the operating system level, a move which is currently under consideration. Musk, who co-founded OpenAI but is currently embroiled in legal disputes with its present owners, asserted that the integration of ChatGPT into iPhones by Apple constitutes an “unacceptable security violation.”
“If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies,” Musk tweeted on Monday. “And visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage,” he added in a subsequent tweet.
