Effective Hospitality Management (EHM) has announced it has been certified as a B Corporation (B Corp) company, underscoring the company’s long‑standing commitment to building commercially resilient hospitality businesses while creating positive social and environmental impact.

Whilst the UK hospitality sector is still under-represented in the B Corp community, adoption is accelerating, especially among boutique hotels, luxury operators, and service providers. EHM have achieved this status after a rigorous certification process and have joined just a handful of hospitality operators to gain the B Corp certification.

In Scotland, only a handful of hospitality businesses, such as Buzzworks Holdings and The Social Hub Glasgow, have achieved this status and EHM are proud to be amongst those businesses championing their commitment to sustainability and transparency and setting a new standard for the industry.

Kevin Keenan MIH, Co‑Founder and Director:

“Hospitality should enhance places and people as well as profits. Achieving B Corp certification formalises that commitment. We’re proud to lead by example and show that performance and purpose can go hand in hand.”

John Shevlin MIH, Co‑Founder and Director:

“Our clients trust us to transform assets and teams. B Corp adds third‑party assurance to that promise and aligns us with owners, guests, and partners who want sustainability embedded in everyday decisions, not just in a policy.

Why B Corp matters

B Corp Certification recognises companies that meet rigorous, third‑party‑verified standards of performance, accountability, and transparency across governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. Certification is administered by the non‑profit B Lab and requires re‑certification every three years.

While more than 2,600 companies in the UK are now B Corp certified, fewer than 50 operate in hospitality. Adoption is accelerating among boutique hotels, luxury operators, and service providers, but the sector remains underrepresented. In Scotland, only a handful of hospitality businesses have achieved this status, making EHM’s certification a significant leadership milestone.
