An Edinburgh interiors brand has announced its collaboration with one of the world’s leading lithographic workshops to create a series of limited edition lithographs.

Nordic Living by Biehl is to hold an exclusive event to launch a curated selection of original Edition Copenhagen stone lithographs, offering art lovers an opportunity to discover limited edition pieces from some of Denmark’s most notable contemporary artists.

Established in 1959, Edition Copenhagen is one of the leading lithographic workshops in the world, each year inviting a number of international and Danish artists to create original lithographs using traditional techniques which date back to the 18th century. Working on ancient limestone slabs, the artist draws directly onto the stone using lithographic crayons and inks and the edition is printed onto acid-free, cotton-based handmade paper, a material that absorbs colour beautifully and resists yellowing over time. When the process is completed, the stone is ground down, the image is gone and the prints that have been made are the only ones which will ever exist – a truly limited edition.

Since owners Sofie Bielhl Kleberg and Mogens Kleberg opened Nordic Living in 2018, the Bruntsfield store has built a reputation for stocking beautiful Danish furniture from renowned designers alongside lifestyle and interior accessories from newer brands, in a welcoming, friendly and truly inspiring showroom.

The new collaboration with Edition Copenhagen will bring a collection of limited edition prints to Edinburgh for the first time, from artists including  Mathias Malling Mortensen, Morten Schelde,  Malene Landgreen, Benny Dröscher, Benny Brankovic,  Per Adolfsen and more. Each work is numbered, signed by the artist, and comes with full provenance from Edition Copenhagen.

Guests are invited to a launch event on Thursday 21 May from 5pm, with an opportunity to see the artworks in person, to appreciate their colour, texture and presence and to acquire something that will last a lifetime and beyond.

Sofie Biehl Kleberg, owner of Nordic Living by Biehl commented:

“We’re really excited about this collaboration with one of the most prestigious names in Nordic art and have enjoyed working with the Edition Copenhagen team to select the artists and lithographs that we’ll be bringing to Bruntsfield. Art completes an interior and it’s wonderful to see these beautiful pieces hanging in the showroom alongside our furniture, lighting, rugs and accessories. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone for the launch event, to enjoy some drinks and discover something really special.”

The launch event takes place at Nordic Living, 185 Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh EH10 4DG  on Thursday 21 May from 5pm, and is open to all.  The full collection will be available to view and purchase at the event. For more details, contact the team via mynordicliving.co.uk.
