SCOTLAND’S leading leisure destination for families, Crieff Hydro Hotel in Perthshire, is making final preparations to launch a custom-built £250,000 Adventure Park in spring 2020.

As part of the Hotel’s adventure centre, Action Glen – which already offers more than 25 outdoors activities for visitors – Glen’s Adventure Park is set to be the biggest of its kind in the region and will officially open its gates on Saturday, 4th April 2020.

At the heart of Glen’s Adventure Park, within the Crieff Hydro’s 900 Acre Estate, will be Glen’s Fort an imposing four-storey, eight metre high, structure with three slides, four lookouts, climbing walls, crawl tunnels, ladders and clambering spider webs. Its impressive timber structure echoes the impressive architectural silhouette of Crieff Hydro Hotel itself.

Phase two, which is set to launch ahead of the peak summer months, will also see the addition of a custom built toddler area to further enhance its appeal as a national attraction.

Richard Leckie, Action Glen Manager and sixth generation of the family that heads up Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, said: “Crieff Hydro has earned itself a strong reputation as a top leisure destination for families across the country with an unrivalled heritage and emphasis that puts family front and centre. It is important that we continue to evolve and enhance our facilities here at the hotel in order to meet and exceed those expectations.

“I am proud to call Crieff home and with this significant investment, we believe we’ll boost the visitor numbers, not only to the resort but to Crieff and the surrounding area.  Being just an hour from Dundee, Edinburgh & Glasgow, we hope to attract more day visitors.

“It’s been our ambition to create an impressive Adventure Park at the centre of Action Glen and with works progressing quickly, we can’t wait to welcome our first families and groups from far and wide when it officially launches at Easter.

“We’re excited about the introduction of the Adventure Park and the continued investment in our offering will firmly position Action Glen at Crieff Hydro as a must-visit destination for families across the country this year.”

Glen’s Adventure Park will be suitable for all the family so regardless of age there will be elements for everyone to enjoy.

The brand new Adventure Park is also set to include a trio of 30m racing zip wires, swings, playground games, two inflatable jumping pillows and peddle berg karts. A range of trim trail elements are also on site including balance beams, rope walks and stepping stones.

The finishing touches are now being made ahead of its official launch on 4 April 2020.
