One of Dundee’s fastest-growing sustainable engineering businesses has exceeded £9 million in turnover after delivering 33% year-on-year growth, reflecting rising demand for low-carbon construction solutions and the company’s expanding global footprint.
Founded in 2019 by Callum Milne, RADIX specialises in the design and manufacture of sustainable screw pile and ground screw foundation systems. Its technology supports a broad range of sectors including renewable energy, transport and infrastructure, modular construction, leisure and tourism, and residential development.
At the core of RADIX’s offering is a concrete-free foundation system which reduces embodied CO₂e by more than 60% compared with traditional civil engineering methods. The approach also enables faster, cleaner installation, removing the need for excavation and spoil removal while improving efficiency on site.
The company has grown steadily since launch, with its workforce now standing at 22 employees across its Dundee headquarters and Chelmsford operational hub. Alongside manufacturing, RADIX operates its own commercial installation division, delivering a full end-to-end service for large-scale projects, particularly within the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) market.
Supporting this capability is the firm’s accredited “No More Digging” network, which extends across the UK and enables delivery of installation services in multiple sectors, working in tandem with RADIX’s in-house teams.
Growth has been driven by increasing pressure across industry to accelerate infrastructure delivery while reducing carbon emissions. With turnover forecast to reach £12 million in 2026, RADIX is continuing on a strong upward trajectory, underpinned by demand across renewable energy, infrastructure and development markets.
From its base in Dundee, the company now supports projects across Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. Recent international work includes involvement in SUPERNODE, a major battery energy storage project in Australia, where RADIX’s structural platform and screw pile systems were deployed at scale.
Investment in infrastructure and capability has kept pace with expansion. The company extended its Dundee headquarters and warehousing operations in 2023, followed by additional warehousing capacity secured at its Chelmsford site in April 2026. It has also strengthened its manufacturing capability through the acquisition of advanced equipment, including the Phelix HF50 Helical Former, enhancing in-house UK production, quality control and supply resilience.
Innovation remains a key focus. In September 2025, RADIX launched a next-generation precision torque monitoring system in partnership with Datum Electronics. The technology delivers real-time, high-accuracy installation data directly to smartphones and tablets, setting a new benchmark for portable ground screw installation monitoring.
The business is now targeting £20 million in turnover within the next three years, while maintaining its engineering base and operational expertise in Scotland.
