Overall Winners at the DACC Business Champions 2024 in Dundee

THE Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce has officially announced the winners of the highly anticipated 2024 Chamber Business Champion Awards at Tuesday’s ceremony. Dundee Rep & Scottish Dance Theatre has emerged as the overall winner, securing the prestigious £10,000 advertising package with Scottish broadcasting giant STV.

Other winners, including Backlit Films, Dundee Science Centre, Montrose Port Authority, Carolina House Trust and Scott & Fyfe Ltd., were presented with their awards at the official awards lunch, sponsored by the Michelin Development Fund at the iconic Carnoustie Golf Resort.

The award presentations are a culmination of efforts from the 15 businesses shortlisted in six categories. They showcased their business prowess, acumen and impact across the area, to the Chamber judging panel including CAM Ventures, ChamberFORCE, HRFCA, STV, The Selkie Group and SSEN Transmission, with a two-week public vote determining the overall winner.

This year the awards introduced individual categories, recognizing people as well as businesses who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and contributions to the community.

Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce’s Chief Executive, Alison Henderson, said: “The competition in this year’s Business Champion Awards has been exceptional. The incredible talent and high standards across our region made the selection process more challenging than ever, an inspiring reflection of the outstanding businesses we have in our region.

“It’s a real joy to so many of our members come together in Carnoustie for the Awards lunch and celebrate these achievements as a community.”

“Dundee Rep truly stood out amongst the competition for their unwavering commitment to sustainability and the local community. Their impressive strides in achieving net-zero goals, combined with their dedication to creating a positive impact within the city, made them a deserving overall winner. Dundee Rep exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose and set a powerful example for businesses across the region.”

Gemma Henry, Head of Marketing and Communications at Dundee Rep and Scottish Dance Theatre, said: “Winning this award is a testament to our entire team and all their hard work. We’re incredibly thrilled to have been recognised by not only the Chamber, but our local community especially in a category against so many other inspiring organisations.”

Ashley Walton, Head of Commercial Marketing at STV said: “Supporting the business community is vital right now and we’re delighted to partner with the Dundee & Angus Chamber on their Awards.
