A Dispute Resolution Lawyer, who began her career with Thorntons as a trainee, has been promoted to Partner within the firm’s Dundee office.

Working in the Commercial Dispute Resolution and Claims team, Lauren Rae acts for individual clients and on behalf of businesses on a broad range of commercial litigation work. This includes insolvency, landlord and tenant disputes, professional negligence, evictions, debt recovery, contractual and construction disputes.

Coinciding with her promotion to Partner, Lauren has also been sworn in as a Solicitor Advocate at the Court of Session in Edinburgh. This gives Lauren rights of audience in the Supreme Courts in Scotland.

Colin Graham, Chairman at Thorntons, said: “Supporting employee development and encouraging internal career progression is important to us at Thorntons. Lauren is a prime example of this and we are delighted to promote her to Partner in the firm. Being promoted and becoming a Solicitor Advocate is something Lauren should be very proud of.”

Lauren, a graduate of the University of Dundee, added: “My career began as a trainee at Thorntons in 2010 before qualifying in 2012 into the Dispute Resolution and claims team. The training and career development support offered at Thorntons has been second to none and I’ve had opportunities to work on a range of clients thanks to the firm’s full service model.

“In this new role, I hope to instil further trust in my clients and maintain the high quality offering for clients at Thorntons.”

The promotion of Lauren takes the number of Partners at Thorntons to 57 with 3 Solicitor Advocates.
