EFFINI, the data science company, is growing to meet the increasing demand for its services, with the appointment of Samantha Rhynas as Head of Data and Brian Baglow as Head of Marketing.
Effini provides support, guidance and direction to small and medium enterprises, helping them to understand and utilise their data in practical and achievable ways, helping the business grow and operate more effectively.
Sam brings a wealth of experience in data, software development, operations and production to the company, allowing Effini to meet the growing demand for data services across every sector of the Scottish economy.
Brian is a growth hacker, with deep experience in helping pioneering companies and technologies reach the market. He will ensure that Effini can communicate the power of data and the opportunities for organisations clearly and effectively.
Before joining Effini, Sam was the Head of Operations at Stochastic Solutions, an Edinburgh based Data Science & AI company. With over 20 years of experience of DevOps, Quality Assurance, Service Design & Delivery and Data Analysis in the context of analytical software, real-time data feeds and high-performance data systems, Sam is passionate about bringing practical, effective solutions to businesses across a broad range of sectors.
Sam is also an advocate for diversity within the technology sector. She is one third of the Girl Geek Scotland leadership team, and also co-organises the Edinburgh chapter of PyData, a global community for developers and users of open source data tools, including Python and R.
As the founder and CEO of his own creative agency, Brian worked with hundreds of startups and young companies across the UK, USA and Europe, helping many to achieve successful exits.
Brian is the founder and director of the Scottish Games Network. He also lectures at Edinburgh Napier University, on the transformative power of technology within the creative industries.
