MORE than 50 aspiring performers will have the opportunity to take to the stage at Glasgow’s Winterfest this month thanks to the generous support of leading build to rent property developer, Dandara Living.

The company has joined forces with the Clutha Trust to enable talented singers to perform at the Community Stages in George Square and St Enoch for the duration of Winterfest, which runs until 7th January 2024.  The singers are given a daily spot and the opportunity to perform in front of a packed audience enjoying the show for free.

The award-winning developer is also supporting the Clutha Trust to provide a festive dinner and entertainment at the Clutha Bar to around forty families and people who feel isolated on Christmas Day. Generously, Clutha staff have also given up their time to volunteer at the event, creating a special atmosphere and memorable event for guests who are struggling at this time of the year.

Zoe Sharpe, Senior Development Manager, Dandara Living said, “The Clutha Bar is synonymous with great Glasgow entertainment and has always been a huge supporter of local bands and performers.

“For budding artists to have the chance to perform in front of a live and enthusiastic crowd is a great opportunity and we’re delighted to be involved.  Winterfest is a magical city-wide family-friendly event, but we are very much aware that it’s also a difficult time for some.

“Community and tackling social issues are at the heart of everything the Trust gets involved in and these are equally important values to our business so we’re very pleased to be working together with them to provide positive, memorable experiences for people in need this Christmas.”

Alan Crossan, founder of the Clutha Trust and owner of the Clutha Bar added, “We’re grateful to Dandara Living for their generosity as we know although a magical time of year it’s also a time of hardship for many grappling with the cost of living.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer some help on Christmas Day as well as continue our ongoing support to the city’s budding singers and musicians.”

Dandara Living is an award-winning developer, specialising in developing and operating Build to Rent apartment buildings. Its Granary Quay development at Glasgow Harbour will provide 391 new homes and the company also has a further development proposed at Anderston Quay in Glasgow.  Subject to planning, City Wharf will feature nearly 500 one, two and three bedroom homes for rent and 490 student apartments alongside units for commercial use.

Associated high quality amenities, located on the ground and first floors, will include a cycle hub, large open plan gym, residents lounge, and co-working spaces with views onto the River Clyde.

Central to the site’s design is the creation of a new urban park for use by residents and the local community.

Dandara Living has a 98% satisfaction rating on Homeviews for its developments as independently rated by residents.

A division of the Dandara Group, the business was founded in 2016 and since then, it has become a leading provider of rental homes. With live developments in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Aberdeen and a growing portfolio of more than 7,400 homes in 10 towns and cities across the UK, Dandara Living is on target to become the largest build to rent developer and operator in the UK.

Firmly established in England, Build to Rent developments feature properties that are let on secure tenancies and not sold.  A comparatively new concept in Scotland, residents are offered long-term security of tenure, with the flexibility of renting and access to communal onsite facilities.  Well managed, they are designed to foster a sense of community.
