RENOWNED family resort, Crieff Hydro, is set to host its “biggest Winter Wonderland ever,” anticipating over 10,000 visitors during the festive season. The resort, nestled in Perthshire, will transform its grounds into a yuletide extravaganza from November 25 to January 6, 2024.

With more than 12,000 tickets already sold, the Winter Wonderland features a 200 sq-metre ice skating rink, fairground rides, Santa’s Grotto, and a reindeer experience. The addition of a real ice rink marks a first for Crieff Hydro, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

Stephen Leckie, CEO and chairman of Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, expressed delight at the overwhelming response, saying, “We are already delighted with the response to what is set to be the biggest Winter Wonderland that Crieff Hydro has ever seen.” He added, “Ticket sales have been selling thick and fast, and as a result, the wonderland is firmly on track to be one of the best Christmas events in Scotland this year.”

The Winter Wonderland will also feature the return of the Crieff Hydro Christmas Pantomime, presented by theatre company TF Productions, with a contemporary twist on the classic fairytale Cinderella. Leckie emphasised the importance of the panto, stating, “No festive season is complete without a trip to the panto, and we’re thrilled to be working with TF Productions to bring a contemporary twist to this much-loved story to the stage.”

In conjunction with Crieff Hydro’s Winter Wonderland, sister company Highland Safaris will run its Christmas Experience every Saturday and Sunday from December 2 to December 24, 2023. Visitors can partake in a ranger-led trail, a Christmas treasure hunt, and enjoy an audience with Santa at the Winter Grotto.

Richard Leckie of Highland Safaris expressed excitement about the Christmas Experience, saying, “Our Christmas Experience is hugely popular among visitors from Aberfeldy and beyond. We can’t wait to welcome them back for this truly magical experience.”

Tickets for Crieff Hydro’s Winter Wonderland start from £3, and for Highland Safaris Christmas Experience, tickets begin at £15 per adult. Peebles Hydro, another hotel in the Crieff Hydro Family, also announced its Santa’s Grotto Experience, starting from December 3.
