A DUMFRIES & Galloway Crafty Distillery has been awarded the top award – ‘Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year’ at the Scottish Gin Awards 2020 (SGA).
Since opening their doors in June 2017 Crafty Distillery has gone the extra mile to deliver spirits that honour the promise of ‘craft’. Just as the Scotch Malt Whisky industry is the envy of the world, it’s essential for them to create spirits that deliver on this high expectation that Scottish spirits command.
The judges at the SGA commented: “The ultimate award, ‘Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year’, was presented to Crafty Distillery in Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway, following a year in which it had achieved international growth while maintaining its locally crafted, high quality product values.”
Graham Taylor, Founder & Owner reflected on what the award means for them: “Winning this award is a proud moment, and proves that by going the extra, more costly mile to deliver the highest levels of taste and quality, has not limited our growth, but has instead attracted many customers and carved out a unique space for our spirits and our brand. In the 3.5 years since Crafty Distillery arrived on the Scottish spirits scene they have earned a reputation for innovative and tasty spirits that raise the bar in craft distilling. One big part of their offering is that they are one of the few distilleries in the world that distill using their very own spirit. This expensive process adds character, mouth feel and enviable quality. So far, their spirits range from the inclusively created and heavily awarded Hills & Harbour Gin, a ‘world’s first’ Smokey & Citrus Distilled Cocktail and their limited edition Galloway Gin & Galloway Vodka which raise the bar of provenance & process with their 100% local ingredients focus.
