COX & CO, Scotland’s pioneering property investment house, has announced a significant expansion with the introduction of its bespoke estate agency division. This strategic move aims to revolutionise the Scottish real estate market, offering a unique, American realtor-style ‘one-stop shop’ service.
The Edinburgh-based firm, founded in 2014 through the merger of two family companies, has rapidly grown under the leadership of majority shareholder John Cox. With over 300 properties under management, Cox & Co has become synonymous with private acquisitions and property investment in Scotland.
The new estate agency division, comprising property professionals Moni Tagore, Jenny Purves, Andrew Cramond, Mantas Lozys, and the recently-appointed Director of Sales, Judy Shields, will cover Edinburgh and its surrounding areas, including West Lothian, Midlothian, East Lothian, Glasgow, and the Borders. The company has ambitious plans to expand further into areas such as the East Neuk of Fife, Dundee, and Aberdeen as part of its growth strategy.
“We are excited to introduce this bespoke estate agency proposition in Edinburgh and beyond. Our goal is to offer a holistic service to prospective buyers and sellers, transforming the way real estate transactions are conducted,” said John Cox, owner of Cox & Co. “Our approach is similar to the ‘USA realtor’ or ‘Dubai property agent’ models, providing direct, personalised support to clients at every step of the process.”
Cox & Co’s unique approach aims to bridge the gap between buyers and sellers, offering tailored assistance and eliminating outdated practices, such as the cloak-and-dagger approach to closing dates. The company specialises in selling, sourcing, buying, and trading properties, catering to both local and international clients.
“We believe collaboration is key in the evolving real estate industry. Cox & Co is well-equipped to assist buyers and sellers in navigating the market, offering off-market and on-market solutions. Additionally, we specialise in helping clients transition from short-term to long-term rentals, addressing the challenges faced by the sector,” Cox added.
The expansion of Cox & Co’s estate agency division is expected to create job opportunities, with the team set to quadruple in the next 24 months. John Cox envisions the creation of 20 jobs over the next two years as the company extends its reach across Scotland, fostering a more collaborative and efficient real estate market.
